Quick blurb earlier as we were off to dance, then Robert to soccer, then Dad (is home again - yay) and I went to LLBean to get some stuff for Robert's bike trek this weekend, now back and had a little dinner, but Cori's not home yet, and Dad took Robert to Scouts, and I ate some sausage because I HAD to, but here I am... sometimes I just feel like running on and on... Getting all your mail and the 2 pics was wonderful! Thanks so much for all of it. Robert has done leaf i.d. in Scouts, so he had some clue about the leaves, but not their Latin names, of course! Crash course in humanity without the professor = Life at College. Sorry to hear about the spec who had to experience S'more through bleary and disgruntled eyes... sad to hear about the girl whose boyfriend cheated... very sad about the comatose brother... very, very glad you have no interest in the DU life. Strange how the rep has not changed since I was there. Phi Psi was always the more mellow frat... still a lot of drinking, but more likely to attract the soccer player (cute) guys and DU more the large football player types. That was when S'more still had football, so you can only imagine... Cool that your babysitteeeee has taught you to crochet, and I wonder if they will read your book... I hope the Mom starts reading it with her, and then the girl steals it and reads ahead... or does stuff like that only happen in our family? Through the years, I have come to realize that the love my kids have for books is not to be taken for granted. It is more rare than I would have imagined, and is a wonderful, beautiful thing. Yay, Allison, Cori, and Robert! OK, rambling enough. Remember to call your Mommy, or at least leave your phone on and on you once in awhile. :) Oh, and I hope you got back into your room without your keys! Love you lots, and can't wait to see you... Is your hair still the same color? Current Location: not much choice! Current Mood: grateful Current Music: in my head...

Alarm clocks should not go off at obscene hours. Ask me - I remember being up late with either a sick little darling or a nonsleeping baby, and someone's lovely alarm clock going off a couple of hours later... fumbling in dark to decide what and whose it was, and trying to silence it without throwing it against the wall or waking the sleeping culprit, who seemed oblivious to the racket. Lovely. Hope you are weathering the early rising well - at least you got to breakfast? Congrats to Allison for seeking employment (library employment - what a surprise!), passing placement tests, working on scheduling, and having what seems like a blast at the trust walk and bonfire. Isn't Crum Woods awesome? I remember being awed by how beautiful and set apart it seems from campus, yet it is right there. Seem to be quite a few kids coming home this weekend as their campuses basically shut down. I prefer Swarthmore's through-the-weekend plan and starting classes Mon. Wonder if it was hard to convince professors to begin on a holiday? If there is time in your schedule, I know all of us would be happy to bring a picnic and frolic around for awhile. Let us know... Dad is waiting for a list of anything you forgot/need/want so we can have a true reason for coming down, other than the obvious "we miss you and want to come down, so we will bring food" reason. Will you be signing up for the Intro Engineering course, or are you running from Engineering entirely? The intro might be a good overview without committing to anything, but you probably have a better feel for it. Hope you aren't lotteried out of whatever you sign up for. Nice to read your posting and e-mails! Keep 'em coming! Current Mood: thankful
